Optional Integral Blinds

Integral blinds are a smart addition to our Ultra Slim patio doors, offering a sleek and practical solution for light control and privacy. These Venetian-style blinds are permanently sealed within the cavity of double-glazed units, creating a tidy and protected window treatment. Unlike traditional blinds, integrated blinds are sandwiched between panes of glass, which means they’re shielded from dust, damage, and daily wear. This clever design allows you to adjust light levels and maintain privacy without the fuss of cleaning or the worry of tangled cords.

Features of Our Integral Blinds

  • In-Glass Installation: Blinds permanently sealed within glazed units
  • Precise Light Adjustment: Fine-tune brightness with tilting slats
  • Flexible Privacy: Control visibility while maintaining a bright interior
  • Streamlined Look: No external fixtures cluttering your windows
  • Family-Safe Design: Eliminates risks associated with hanging cords
  • Minimal Upkeep: Say goodbye to regular blind cleaning
  • Built to Last: Shielded from dust, pets, and accidental damage

Ideal Applications

Living Rooms

Patio doors with integral blinds are ideal for living rooms, where they can control light for various activities. During the day, you can adjust the blinds to reduce glare on TV screens or allow natural light for reading. In the evening, closing the blinds provides privacy without the need for additional curtains, maintaining the clean lines of your patio doors.

Kitchens

Patio doors in kitchens can benefit greatly from integral blinds too. They allow you to control visibility from the outside while you’re preparing meals, offering privacy when needed. The blinds’ sealed nature means they’re protected from cooking grease and food splatters, staying clean with no extra effort. You can easily adjust them to reduce glare on work surfaces or to let in more light when dining. Their streamlined appearance also contributes to the clean, uncluttered look desired in many modern kitchens.

Conservatories and Garden Rooms

Integral blinds are particularly useful for patio doors in conservatories and modern garden rooms. They help regulate temperature by blocking intense sunlight during hot days, making the space more comfortable. In winter, closed blinds add an extra layer of insulation. The blinds’ location between glass panes protects them from the high humidity often found in these spaces, ensuring they remain in good condition.

Operating the Integral Blinds

We provide two methods to adjust your integral blinds. One option is a cord-operated system, featuring a rotational winder at the top of the internal glass pane. This cord is removable using a magnetic attachment.

The alternative option is a ‘slide’ control system. A strip is added to the side of the frame where the slider can go up and down to control the blinds. The downside of this option is that it increases the sightline of the frame on one side.
